Apple’s MacBook lineup has stayed the same since the announcement of the M1 chip in 2021.

According to X User Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is expected to start production of the A18 Pro-powered MacBook in Q4 of 2025 and release it during Apple’s spring event. As of now, we don’t have an official name for it, but we are positive it will be called “MacBook”.

One major difference of this rumored MacBook is the fact that it’s powered by an iPhone chip. Apple is rumored to use its A18 Pro chip found in the iPhone 16 Pro. Now, this sounds weird at first—an iPhone chip running macOS— and it is, but Apple’s A18 Pro is as fast as a M1 chip in multi-core performance and as fast as a M3 in single-core performance.

Based on rendered models of the rumored MacBook, we believe the MacBook will use the M1 or M2 MacBook’s design and ports. The MacBook is also said to come in 4 colors that pop based on Apple’s base iPad lineup.

Pink/Red

Silver

The A18 Pro has only been paired with 8GB of RAM, which is the minimum to run Apple Intelligence. So, we can expect to get 8GB or 16GB of RAM in this device.

The device is also said to start at $649, which is $49 above Apple’s latest Mac mini at $600.
