The company behind TikTok, ByteDance, is planning on releasing a US-only version of CapCut, its mobile video editing app, according to Business Insider.

This is the company’s plan to comply with a 2024 law requiring ByteDance to separate from TikTok due to the security risk posed by the US government.

ByteDance is also reportedly developing a US-only version of TikTok.

It’s currently unknown if these rumors are true or if ByteDance has plans to make a US-only version of its other apps Lemon8 and Gauth.
