All content on Hulu will now be one of Disney’s, Disney+ streaming service, as Disney plans to discontinue the Hulu TV and Mobile App to integrate Hulu and Disney+
Today we are announcing a major step forward in strengthening our streaming offering by fully integrating Hulu into Disney+,” CEO Bob Iger and CFO Hugh Johnston said in their prepared remarks on the quarterly earnings. “This will create an impressive package of entertainment, pairing the highest-caliber brands and franchises, great general entertainment, family programming, news, and industry-leading live sports content in a single app.”
Later this month, Disney says they will launch a standalone version of ESPAN, offering the full experience without the need for a cable subscription. Fox is said to also be doing the same thing, to launch its own subscription service with all its content.
