OpenAI says GPT-5 is a model that can do it all. The new model includes capabilities from previous models the company has released. It can do everything from writing a history paper to coding and much more.

OpenAI says they will also remove all their previous models in favor of its new GPT-5 models.
OpenAI also says that GPT-5 is more accurate with fewer hallucinations, and GPT-5 is now the default model for all users.
